Biography: Al-Hajj Afa Sulemana Mumuni is a lecturer at the Department of Religious Studies at the University of Ghana, Legon. He is also the head of the Association of Muslim Alliance in Ghana. His research work is centered on Muslim Non-Governmental Agencies in the country but with special focus on Islamic philanthropic organizations in the city of Accra.
Description: This was a general interview about the Muslim community in Ghana and its internal structures; the nature of traditional leadership and how it is evaluated by the western educated Muslims. We also touched on the issue of inter-religious tolerance in Ghana and the reasons for such a high degree of accommodation.
